Once your manuscript is submitted, It will be received by the Scientific Editor, if it fulfills AMJ’s guidelines It will be assigned to the Associate Editor to perform an internal evaluation for plagiarism, methodology check, statistic, and the journal’s style requirements and return back to the Scientific Editor, who selects expert reviewers from the field to do a double-blind peer review. The reviewers assess the manuscript's quality, originality, methodology, and significance. Based on their feedback, the Scientific Editor makes a recommendation to the Associate Editor for acceptance, revision, or rejection.
The review process can vary in duration, but we strive to provide a timely and efficient review process. On average, it takes approximately 4-6 weeks for the initial review to be completed. However, the timeline may be influenced by factors such as reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
AMJ imposes a non-refundable article-processing charge of 250,000 Iraqi Dinars for each submitted manuscript.
The average turnaround time for a decision on manuscript acceptance or rejection is typically within 4-8 weeks from the initial submission. However, this timeline can vary depending on the complexity of the study, the number of revisions required, and the availability of reviewers.
AMJ welcomes submissions of research that have been previously published in a different language, provided that the submitted manuscript is a significant expansion or revision of the original work. The authors must clearly indicate the previous publication and provide a justification for the re-submission.
AMJ follows internationally recognized guidelines for authorship and encourages transparency and fairness in assigning authorship. All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. The order of authorship should be based on their relative contributions to the study.
Once a manuscript has been submitted, changes to the content or authorship cannot be made during the review process. However, if the manuscript is accepted with revisions, you will have the opportunity to make the necessary changes in consultation with the editor and reviewers.
You can track the status of your submitted manuscript by logging into your account on our website. The status will be updated throughout the review process, indicating whether it is in review, under revision, or accepted for publication.
At AMJ, we uphold the principles of research integrity and ethical publishing. It is essential to avoid the practice of duplicate submission/publication, which involves submitting or publishing the same work in multiple journals concurrently. This practice is considered unethical as it can lead to exaggerated findings, waste the time of editors, peer reviewers, and readers, and undermine the integrity of scientific research.
In the event that we discover a case of multiple submissions/publications, we will initiate communication with the author(s) involved. We will clearly state that the submitted work has already been submitted/published elsewhere and request an explanation regarding this matter. We believe in providing authors with an opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings or unintentional errors.
If the author(s) can provide a sufficient and reasonable explanation for the multiple submissions/publication, we will reject the submission without imposing any penalties. We understand that mistakes can happen, and we strive to address such situations with fairness and understanding. However, if the author(s) fail to respond, provide an unsatisfactory explanation, or admit guilt, we will reject the submission and apply penalties accordingly.
